This page gathers the material too weak to present as fact but too persistent to ignore completely.

Supposed song fragments

“At 6:10 the city is honest / every window admits it is empty.”

“Do not speak to the walls / they are older than fear and repeat everything badly.”

Both lines come from late recollections and may already be altered from memory.

Additional material

A number of short recollections and fragmented witness accounts were collected separately.

These accounts are inconsistent and should be treated with caution.

Disputed performance list

  • Piła — basement near workers’ housing — winter 1983/84
  • Piła — rehearsal room behind a cultural building — spring 1984
  • Somewhere near the railway area — autumn 1984
  • Unclear final appearance — first half of 1985

None of the above dates can be confirmed with printed material. The problem is not that they are obviously false. The problem is that they are just specific enough to circulate forever.

About the city

Piła makes sense as a setting because it was large enough to produce a small underground scene and small enough for most traces to disappear without much documentation. That may explain why the story persisted in conversation but not in archives.

On the missing tape

The most realistic explanation is banal: a low-quality home recording was copied a few times, mislabeled, physically damaged, and eventually discarded. Still, listeners tend to prefer stranger endings.

reader mail, unsigned, c. 2006: "I heard two songs years ago from a cassette somebody claimed was theirs. It sounded flat, distant, and overloaded. The singer was either very good or very tired. I remember the bass more than the guitar." verification status: none

Broken reference

A fifth participant is sometimes mentioned in relation to reeds, accordion drones, or sustained background tones. No dedicated page exists yet. The notes remain too fragmentary.
